VEGETARIANS : THE GREAT ODYSSEY

Vegetarianism is sometimes believed to be a very contemporary phenomenon. However, it has a global, long-overlooked, fascinating history which this film will

be the very first to tell. From Indian Jains to hippies, from Roman philosophers
to the activists of Victorian England, the history of vegetarianism is a tale woven with hope, innovation and utopia, but also strife, dissidence and persecution.

Throughout this odyssey across time and cultures, we encounter celebrated historical figures and unearth forgotten trailblazers. All of them questioning, through their diet, humanity’s place in the world.
