CONSPIRACY

We live in a time when conspiracy theories — almost as old as conspiracy itself — are everywhere. The internet has thrown open the gates to a flood of shared doubt; transparency “at all costs” has, paradoxically, given way to a strange feeling of opacity. Each news event seems to generate its conspiracy theory, whether it’s September 11th or the Illuminati. Why are these theories so prevalent? The answer lies somewhere in the deep fissures of our social and political structures.
